About the Program
Launch offers after school programs for children in grades K–5 and full-time enrichment programs during school breaks. We are open Monday through Friday, with programs starting from the last school bell and ending at 6:00 p.m. Our program includes homework time, enrichment activities, free choice, and outdoor play.
Our schedule allows time each day for nutritious snacks, academic work, outdoor play, and engaging enrichment activities. The school year focuses on building strong teacher-child relationships as well as the child’s academic, emotional, and life skills. We offer each child a safe physical and emotional space to help them develop a grounded and strong sense of self.
Launch teachers collaborate with one another as well as with public school teachers to create lesson plans that maximize enrichment learning. We incorporate teacher feedback and observations to identify student needs and plan activities with specific learning objectives that support each child while remaining fun and inclusive for everyone.
Panorama
Launch utilizes a tool called Panorama to gather data and collect feedback from children to support social-emotional development. The information from Panorama measures children’s growth mindset, self-efficacy, social awareness and self-management. Staff can use this data to identify areas where children may need additional support – ensuring individual needs are met. This data is also used to identify areas of improvement for program quality.
Social and Emotional Learning Program Quality Assessment
Launch uses the Social and Emotional Learning Program Quality Assessment (SEL-PQA) to evaluate the quality of our programs to foster social and emotional learning. SEL-PQA is used to observe and rate various components of our programs and the interactions between staff and children. SEL-PQA is also used to identify where staff need additional training to create a supportive environment. Once areas of improvement are determined, SEL-PQA can assess if the changes with program quality are positively impacting children.
Registration
Families interested in registering for one of our School-Age programs must fill out a registration packet and required forms found on our Enrollment Page.
*Please note that Launch’s tiered admission system is one that was designed with our mission in mind. We do not do first come, first serve registration – instead we assess our applications and prioritize admission to families furthest from educational justice.
